PUBG Mobile Southeast Asia Championship, PMSL SEA Fall 2024 Finals finally started match Day 1. A number of surprises were created, but the Indonesian team still failed to achieve optimal results. The Vampire Esports team from Thailand dominates the standings followed by D Xavier from Vietnam.
In general, D X is the most consistent team. The team nicknamed the spiders with meta and toktotoslot strategy and center safe zone positioning has indeed been proven to secure the area until the late game. Meanwhile, teams from Indonesia such as Voin Donkey stretched and shone when BOOM Esports, Alter Ego, Bigetron and RRQ seemed to be deadlocked.
Game 1 in Sanhok, two teams from Indonesia, Alter Ego and BOOM Esports, fell quickly. Meanwhile Bigetron Knights and Vampire Esports also fell in the midgame. RRQ Ryu played impressively to finish in 3rd place. A Vietnam duel then occurred where D’Xavier’s precise grenade throw was able to finish off ROY Esports’ resistance.
Entering the 2nd map, Erangel, the Indonesian teams tried to avoid elimination at the start, however, RRQ and D’Xavier were outplayed faster. VOIN Donkey succeeded in maintaining the parameters while BOOM and Alter Ego fell in the midgame. A fierce battle broke out on the side of the cliff. Vampire was surrounded by the Team Flash squad, but VOIN became the third party to steal a WWCD.
In the next game on Erangel, another surprise occurred when Vampire lost in the early game along with the fall of Team Secret and Bigetron. Rotations and collisions occurred, Talon and BOOM Esports improved their placement, finishing in 4th and 2nd place respectively. However, it was D’Xavier who managed to wrap up WWCD.
In the fourth map, BOOM Esports was again too soon, as the safe zone moved to Gatka. D’Xavier appeared consistent to overtake Vampire who fell again in the midgame. Bigetron and Talon also have hopes of improving their position. Bigetron survived until the late game but had to be satisfied with position 3. D’Xavier again wrapped up WWCD
In the 5th map at Miramar, Indonesian fans were once again made to hold their breath when BOOM Esports and Bigetron lost again at the start, followed by other Indonesian teams such as Alter Ego and Talon.
D’Xavier Vampire saw an opportunity to return to the top, but also fell. RRQ with a squad of three players had a big chance but MORPH Team appeared and stole the momentum to get WWCD.
In the last game the tempo started to drop a little. In the early game, RRQ and D’Xavier were eliminated, and soon BOOM Esports also returned to the lobby. VOIN gets their second WWCD.
The International 2024 features a completely new format, leading to a playoff bracket. First, teams must play through the Group Stage without facing elimination. The two best teams from each group face the two bottom teams from the next group. These “seeding” matches are also elimination-free, meaning that, after three days of TI, no teams are eliminated.
However, now that we know the bracket matchups, four teams will be eliminated when lower bracket play begins. The organizers decided this after eight seeding matches in the Bo3 format.
